Management Systems

In order to achieve greater control over our business processes and implement best practice across the organisation’s many disciplines, Clifford Devlin has adopted the systematic approach applied by management systems.

This approach introduces the discipline to deliver consistently high standards in everything we do, greater awareness of regulatory requirements, reduce waste and errors and improve overall efficiency and performance. Our management systems also give us the framework to monitor progress and strive towards continual improvement.

Quality
Clifford Devlin is certificated against international quality management systems standard ISO 9001:2000. The company first achieved registration in May 1997 (for BS EN ISO 9002:1994) but has since adopted the new changes and updated the system to meet the requirements of the 2000 standard.

Health & Safety
In July 2007 Clifford Devlin’s Safety Management System was recommended by the British Standards Institute for registration against the international standard for occupational health and safety, OHSAS 18001.

Environment
Clifford Devlin’s environmental management system was certificated against international standard ISO 14001 in September 2008 following an assessment by the British Standards Institute (BSI). We used the participative scheme Fast Track 14 (FT-14) to prepare our ISO compliant environmental management system which shares peer-group experiences, and involved a dozen other members of Laing O’Rourke’s supply chain.

Link Up v2
Clifford Devlin is accredited to version 2 of the rail industry standard Link-Up. This means we are able to tender for trackside demolition projects involving, among others, the following disciplines: Asbestos removal; Bridges and structures; Car parks and roadways; Foundations and piles; Paving and landscaping; Timber and metallic structures.

The accreditation followed an audit of the our management systems in January 2009. Clifford Devlin’s supplier code is 24121.
