Clifford Devlin is fully committed to the professional development of its staff through a holistic programme of training and instruction which ensures that they have the skills to carry out their tasks and responsibilities in a competent and safe manner.

We have implemented a systematic approach to training and staff development which enables us to create a motivated, skilled and effective workforce and aids staff retention to the mutual benefit of Clifford Devlin and our customers.

The recruitment of staff and subcontractors involves a skills and competence appraisal which is carried out by our HSQE Department. A training plan is prepared by our HSQE Department and maintained for each member of staff which includes a schedule of regular formal refresher training that covers health and safety and vocational/discipline-specific skills.

Our commitment to training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) has received formal recognition:

In May 2020 we received an eleventh Gold Medal from the Royal Society for the Protection of Accidents (RoSPA) at its annual Occupational Health & Safety Management Awards. In October 2020 we were awarded a 12th Gold award from ARCA in recognition of an average pass rate of 93.2% for asbestos refresher training. Clifford Devlin is also committed to the ARCA competency scheme which is an HSE requirement for licensing.

Our commitment to the training and professional development of our operatives was also recognised at the 2020 National Demolition Awards. We were selected in the Training Excellence category of the annual awards organised by the industry’s trade body the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC).
