Clifford Devlin completed asbestos removal works at West Norwood Cemetery, one of London’s historic “Magnificent Seven” Victorian cemeteries, as part of planned improvement works.

The project involved the careful removal of asbestos-containing materials from a small building structure within the cemetery grounds. The historic setting required a considered approach, with works planned and undertaken with care for the surrounding environment.

Our experienced asbestos removal team delivered the works under full site supervision, with safety and compliance maintained throughout. Independent air monitoring supported the removal activities, while asbestos waste was securely packaged and placed in a designated skip on site before being transported for disposal at a licensed facility.

Adverse weather created challenging working conditions and made delivery more difficult. Through close coordination and careful management of site activities, our team maintained safe working practices and completed the works on time.

An apprentice also worked alongside the team under the guidance and supervision of our site supervisors, gaining practical experience in asbestos removal and safe site working.

The completed project supported the cemetery’s planned improvements, demonstrating Clifford Devlin’s ability to deliver specialist asbestos works in a sensitive historic setting while supporting the development of the next generation of operatives.
