Clifford Devlin completed a package of enabling works for a new hotel development on Putney High Street, London, for a valued repeat client. Bringing together our in-house demolition and asbestos removal teams, we delivered an integrated service to prepare the site for the next stage of construction.

The scope included intrusive structural investigations, a full soft strip, licensed asbestos removal and controlled demolition. Each phase was carefully planned and coordinated, providing clear responsibility across our teams and strong programme control throughout delivery.

The busy high street location required careful management of the works, with particular consideration given to neighbouring properties, pedestrians and surrounding activity. Environmental monitoring, mitigation measures and public protection controls were maintained throughout the project to support safe working and minimise disruption.

Our demolition and asbestos removal divisions worked closely together to manage the interfaces between activities and maintain an efficient sequence of works through both phases of the project.

The completed enabling works left the site clear and ready for the next phase of the hotel development, continuing our successful partnership with the client.

We achieved 99.98% diversion from landfill for non-hazardous waste, with:

• 50.25% processed for reuse on site
• 48.01% recycled off site
• 1.71% used for energy recovery through energy from waste
• Just 0.02% sent to landfill, comprising ash from the energy-from-waste process
