Clifford Devlin successfully delivered the design and build boiler replacement project at Langley Park Boys’ School, significantly upgrading the site’s heating infrastructure and improving overall energy efficiency. The project was meticulously planned and executed within a tightly constrained programme to align seamlessly with the school’s operational requirements.
The works included the full replacement of all existing boilers, together with the installation of a new Building Management System (BMS) and upgraded heating controls. These enhancements were designed to optimise system performance, provide improved control and visibility, and deliver long-term energy efficiency gains.
As part of the wider upgrade, a new gas supply was installed to support the modernised plant. This involved the excavation of an approximately 200-metre-long trench, followed by full reinstatement and backfilling, with all activities carried out in strict accordance with safety and environmental standards.
To minimise disruption, all works were programmed and completed during the summer holiday period. This ensured there was no impact on teaching activities and enabled staff and students to return in September to a fully operational, upgraded heating system.
Close collaboration between the design, construction, and site teams was key to the project’s successful delivery, allowing works to be completed safely, efficiently, and within the agreed timeframe.
The completed project has provided Langley Park Boys’ School with a modern, reliable, and energy-efficient heating solution. The new boilers, BMS, and upgraded controls deliver improved performance, enhanced monitoring capabilities, and reduced long-term operational costs, supporting the school’s sustainability objectives.
