Client: Westminster City Council
Duration: Ongoing
Location: SW1
Westminster City Council’s Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) teams are responsible for carrying out essential maintenance and emergency works across a diverse portfolio of residential estates and public buildings. Access to critical areas such as plant rooms and lift motor rooms had become restricted due to the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) identified in management surveys.
To ensure compliance with statutory regulations and to allow the Council’s teams to safely undertake maintenance and emergency activities, Clifford Devlin were appointed to deliver a programme of asbestos remediation works across multiple sites within the borough.
The goal of the programme of works is to manage and, where necessary, remove asbestos materials and making safe as per management surveys to provide safe access for the Council’s M&E contractors.
Clifford Devlin’s teams coordinated closely with Westminster City Council’s maintenance departments to schedule works around essential service requirements and minimise disruption to residents and building users. Access was facilitated to lift rooms, plant areas, and service risers, ensuring the Council could continue to deliver critical maintenance and respond swiftly to emergency situations.
