London-based demolition contractor, Clifford Devlin, has started work on the £450k demolition of Pinnacle House in Wimbledon, South West London.

The 20-week project involves the removal of the 5-storey building’s roof structure and plant room, removal of the existing north and south stair cores to create additional floor space, and enable the reconfiguration of internal spaces, re-cladding of the front elevation and extension of the building by three additional floors. The development works which are being carried out by ISG plc will double the existing floor area to over 5000 sqm.

Clifford Devlin has worked with ISG on a number of prestigious projects in the capital including The Adelphi Building (Embankment), Crown House (Aldwych), Queen Street Place and Howick Place.

The existing roof will be replaced with additional floors, incorporating green roof areas and planted terraces with a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’. The existing basement will be reconfigured to accommodate plant and cycle parking, together with improvements to the public realm.
